Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. We have some exciting changes to our district this year. Please bookmark this page to read about the latest news and events for instrumental music education in Acadiana. SLBDA, Inc. runs the events for the LMEA District III organization. You can find all of the information for the district in this website. In addition, you will find many other events and services offered by the Southwest Louisiana Band Directors' Association.
Our MissionThe Southwest Louisiana Band Directors' Association was formed to promote relationships among area band directors and to provide a common meeting forum and clearinghouse for an exchange of ideas and methods that will stimulate professional growth and advance the standard of musical and educational achievements for area band directors. Its function is to cooperate with existing associations whose purpose is the betterment of music education and to educate the public about the artistic value of wind and percussion music through the sponsorship of events and activities that promote excellence in the wind band medium.
